"One of the most important and most-loved "members" of the band is our announcer, Clarence S. Carney. A well-known figure in the Siouxland area, Clarence has been the voice of the All-America Concert Band since we first started. This very unique individual has been, among other things, a teacher, a coach, a school board member, a state legislator, a potentate of the Abu Bekr Shrine, a spokesperson for a utility company and a member of the committees responsible for the construction of the multi-million dollar Tyson Events Center and the renovation of the magnificent Orpheum Theatre. Clarence's entire life has been devoted to public service.
In 2003, the All-America Concert Band established the "Clarence S. Carney Music Scholarship Fund". Each year one of the band's performances is a benefit to raise funds for this fund. And each year, we award scholarships to students who show an advanced level of musical ability and a willingness to share that ability with the community.
Since the band is a 501c3 entity, any contributions made to this fund are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
If you are interested in making a contribution to the fund, please send your check made payable to "The All-America Concert Band" to the following address:
The All-America Concert Band
520 Nebraska Street, Suite 420
Sioux City, Iowa 51101-1319
In the memo, please indicate "C. S. Carney Music Scholarship Fund".
Thank you!!
